Greek Fest 2011 - OPA!

Unfortunately, last year we missed the Greek Festival due to other things going on at the same time, but we were bound and determined to make it there this year. Myself, the kids, aunt Julie and Grandma and Grandpa Syrros all headed out for some good food and good times.

On our way there we thought the weather was going to get the best of us. Although the sky was mostly sunny, one small cloud opened up and it poured on our way to the festival. Once we got to the church though the rain stopped and upon entering the church grounds we knew our evening was going to be filled with lots of fun and lots of food.
The kids played in the children's area and of course had a blast. Then it was time to enjoy the food.
GyrosGreek Fries
Dolmathes (which were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!)
Pastitsio SpanakopitaAfter dinner, we had to take in all of the YUMMY desserts!
Loukoumathes Baklava Kourambiethes and my ABSOLUTE Favorite,
Kataifi

The church (St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church) was absolutely beautiful that night lit up in all its splendor. We left with our bellies full looking forward already to next year! OPA!

Sock Hop 2011

I started volunteering on Cartwright Elementary's PTA when Kadee started Kindergarten.  Three years later I am now Vice President and have taken on the Sock Hop event the last two years.   I love this event.  All of the kids dress up in their 50's attire and the PTA provides free Rootbeer Floats and Ice Cream Sundaes.  The kids and parents all seem to have a great time!

This year's Sock Hop was crazy to say the least.  I honestly think we had two to three times more people in attendance than last year.

I literally had to run to the store mid-way to pick up more supplies.  I was so busy from setting up to cleaning up that it was all kind of a blur to me but I am pretty sure everyone had a BLAST!  Charlie helped me out with the kids, well really only Chance, Kadee and Cole were out dancing and playing the entire time!

I Miss My Blog!

I said it would happen, I typed that it would happen, it is right there in black and white...I will catch up on my blog. Yeah, I just looked, my last chronological post was June 12! Really! Five months and nothing. I miss it so. I miss sharing my memories with my friends and loved ones. I miss putting my thoughts to paper. What if today were my last, what will my kids have to help them remember our special and even just our ordinary moments!

I WILL CATCH UP, I WILL CATCH UP, I WILL CATCH UP!

I will warn you that you will have to bear with the photos. Broke our camera in Jackson Hole on vacation this summer and am hoping and praying that Santie Claus brings me a new one, a good one. I love pictures. I love memories. I WILL CATCH UP!

I'm Back!

Okay, after a MAJOR hiatus (Computer Virus (again!), Vacation, etc..) I realized I got to get hopping on this blog of mine. I have missed so much so I will be going back and filling in all of our major family events over the last four months so please continue to check back and scroll on down to make sure you didn't miss anything. I am starting with the latest events and working my way back because the memories are fresher and I am more motivated to do it that way :) Hopefully within the next couple weeks I will be all caught up!

Happy 7th Birthday Baby Girl!

Whether I want to admit it or not, my baby is growing up. Today she turned 7! Next is 8, then 9, then 13, then 16, then 18...you know whereI am going with this.

I have such a hard time remembering here as a baby or even a toddler for that matter. Thank goodness for pictures and video cameras! I remember what a truly sweet baby she was. So precious and so happy. And now I get to stand by as she turns into a beautiful baby girl.

We started the morning off with a special birthday breakfast just for the birthday girl. Patt-a-cakes (as she used to call them when she was little). After breakfast it was off to the mall for some school/birthday shopping. Charlie and the boys tagged along and Grandma Syrros and Julie tagged along as well. Thank goodness because shopping was EXHAUSTING! Kadence was definitely more interested in the jewelry then the clothes. And keeping up with the boys was a chore in and of itself (between me and Julie we only lost Cole 4 times...not bad for one day...aye that kid!) Not to mention that the mall was packed, somebody obviously forgot what the mall looks like the weekend before school starts! After finding some super cute outfits Charlie and the boys cut out on us (enough was enough).

I took Kadee to the nail place to get her nails done. She has been begging me for the last few months, so what better day to grant her wish than on her birthday.
After the mall, we headed to the big surprise for the evening...the BIG TIME RUSH concert. We made plans with her friend Kaitlin and her mom Clarice to grab a bite to eat and then head over to the concert.
The concert was at the Henderson Amphitheater, an outdoor venue which was actually pretty nice, it was a little windy but at least it wasn't stifling hot! We got to see several bands including a local band called The Falcos; H1; Cherise; The Stunners and Big Time Rush. The girls had a blast at the beginning and were dancing in their seats, screaming, doing all the things little girls should do at concerts like this. As the night progressed though we had some sleepy little ones on our hands. They kinda perked up when Big Time Rush came out but they weren't on stage long (only played a disappointing three songs).

After that we volunteered to give the girls piggy back rides back to the car which we parked at the District. Boy did they come alive then, there was a lot of laughing and giggling on that walk back!

I hope my baby girl had a wonderful day of being spoiled. Being the oldest she sometimes has to sacrifice her time and her mommy and daddy's attention for her little brothers and she does it like an angel. I am so proud of the young lady she is becoming, however I would really just like to freeze time because it seems like seven years came and went in a blink. I love you KadeeBug! Happy Birthday.

Fun with Our Cousins

Cindy, Lucas, Kevin, Ari and baby Ian came to visit us for a few days. We were so excited to see them! It was our first time meeting baby Ian...and we were able to confirm our beliefs that he truly is SUCH a cutie!
We had a blast as we always do. A lot of relaxing by the pool and some ventures out to cool attractions that Vegas is famous for!

We hit the Silverton to see the Mermaids and take a tour through one of our favorite stores, Bass Pro Shop.
The kiddos took in the shooting range at Bass Pro. We also hit Fashion Show Mall and of course the girls had to give the "Fashion Runway" a go!We also visited Caesar's Palace Forum Shops so the kids could see the cool statue shows and water fountains.
It was a busy but great trip. We had such a good time and can't wait till they come back!

Happy Father's Day 2010

Me and the kids were up early like we usually are on the weekends and Kadence asked if we could book Daddy breakfast since it was Father's Day. We got crackin right away so we could serve him his breakfast before he awoke. Kadee insisted that he HAD to have breakfast in bed!

Me and the kids made him a pretty good breakfast, and of course we created quite the mess while we were at it! Event Date: 06/20/2010

Cole's End of the Season T-Ball Party

Cole had his end of the season T-Ball party at Chuckee Cheese. I knew he would be sooooo excited to get his very first trophy. He has always admired Kadence's trophies and I knew his first one would be so special to him.

Passed Down to Enjoy

The best part of having a second boy is the ability to pass down the toys that Cole loved so much when he was a baby to his little brother. Chance recently uncovered Cole's old four wheeler and fell in love with it!
