Some Fun in the Sun

We love summer! We better considering it is the longest season we enjoy down here in Vegas! On the weekends the kids wake up asking to go swimming and usually crawl out of the pool at night to put there PJs on exhausted from an entire day of splish splashing around.

One of my FAVORITE photos:
I called Cole "Scuba Steve" all summer long. And of course we had to have plenty of snacks on hand to replenish all of the energy that was spent swimming, some of our favorites included this GIGANTIC tub of cheeseballs. I seriously think it lasted us the entire summer! And who can make it through the hot day without a good old fashioned Otter Pop!

Chance's 1st Dip in the Pool

We finally got Chance in the pool for the first time. He wasn't sure at first but then once he decided he was okay he sat back in his floatie and enjoyed the ride. Daddy cruised him around the pool for a good half hour until he decided he was tired. Once I got him out of the pool I laid him on a couple of towels on the patio and he soon fell asleep. All that floating must of really worn him out!

Swimming at the Monte Carlo

My sister Laurie is in town for the week and is staying a couple of days at the Monte Carlo. I took the day off on Friday and we all headed over to enjoy their fun pools. They have completely redone their pool area since we stayed there in college. They have a large pool, a wading pool, a big hot tub, a wave pool and a lazy river. The kids had a blast and it was great to spend the day with my sisters. I even got Chance all decked out to go in the water for the first time but the water was way too cold! He is sick and I didn't want to make it worse.

The Local Swimming Hole

We have pretty much been home bound after having Chance so we have really taken advantage of the pool this summer! The kids have been swimming almost everyday since the baby came home. Daddy took them out the first couple of days we were home so he could pay attention to just them since so much attention was being paid to the new baby. They are officially fish now. Charlie taught Kadence how to swim without floaties. She is doing awesome and now swims the length of the pool all by herself.

It is a big relief to see her swim all on her own. She is even brave enough to jump off of the hot tub into the pool without floaties! Speaking of brave, Cole cannot get enough of the water either. Of course he still has to wear his floaties but he has no hesitation jumping in off of the hot tub all by himself and doesn't want anyone to catch him.

While Charlie was out of town for work my dad stepped up and came down ever day to take the kids swimming! He had a blast and enjoyed the exercise of keeping up with the kids, although I think he was pretty tired when it was time to get out!
I can't wait till I am all better to dive in and enjoy the fun.
